DocumentationSaving on cart

Saving on cart widget

A Subtotal / You save / Total breakdown in the cart that shows shoppers what a spend-goal or free-shipping offer is worth. It shows an honest estimate and is clear that the final total is confirmed at checkout.

This widget puts a small breakdown in the cart — Subtotal, You save, Total — so shoppers can see the value of the deal they have already reached. It is built for spend-goal and free-shipping campaigns, whose reward is known once the cart passes a spend threshold.

Honest by design

Stackable applies discounts at checkout, not on the storefront, so the storefront can only estimate the saving. This widget shows a "You save" amount only when it can compute it with confidence — a spend-goal reward whose threshold the cart has met. When a saving cannot be computed on the storefront (for example free shipping, whose value depends on the shopper’s address), it says so plainly rather than inventing a number.

Tip

The breakdown is always labelled as an estimate, with the final discount and shipping confirmed at checkout — so what a shopper sees here can never overstate what they pay.

When it shows

  • The "Saving on cart" block is added to your cart page or drawer in the theme editor.
  • A live spend-goal or free-shipping campaign applies to the shopper’s cart.
  • The Stackable app embed is turned on, so the widget can read the live cart.

If the cart has not yet reached a threshold, the widget shows the subtotal without a saving line — pair it with the cart progress bar to nudge shoppers toward the goal.

Styling

Colours, the label text, and the card style are block settings in the theme editor. Amounts are shown in the shopper’s own currency; if that currency differs from your store’s, the widget hides amounts it cannot convert safely rather than show a figure that would not match checkout.
